Description
Osmanthus x burkwoodii is a very attractive shrub or small tree that makes a well performing hedge or screen as it has dense, glossy, dark green foliage.
It produces clusters of very delightful creamy white flowers in spring through summer that are very fragrant and one of the key attractors to pollinating birds and insects – apart from pleasing us humans too.
The flowers are followed by small black fruits/berries
Soil: Well drained soils are best, woodland soils even better (e.g. plenty of organic matter added).
Maintenance: These are low maintenance plants that only require a light trim now and then.
