Description
This rounded, medium tree grows up to 6 to 7 mtrs tall. It is a hybrid of M. denudata and M. lilliflora‘. It bears fragrant, saucer-shaped white flowers from 75 to 150mm across, deeply flushed with rose-pink or violet. The blossoms are fragrant and appear before the leaves in early to mid-spring.
Care: Grow in moist, well-drained, preferably acidic to neutral soil in sun or partial shade; magnolias do not tolerate wet feet. Magnolia flower buds are susceptible to late-season frosts; shelter large-leaved species from windy locations.
