October 2019 Closing Dates. After some 19 years of dedicated customer service, it’s time we had our Long Service, this means for the 1st time ever the Nursery and Office will be fully closed during the following dates:
  • Last regular online orders despatched - Monday & Tuesday 30 September/1 October.
  • Limited, pre-discussed/agreed orders only despatched - Wed 2nd - Fri 4th October.
  • Very limited office, email and phone service - from 5th to 9th October.
  • Last day for order pickups, nursery visits - Tuesday 8th October.
  • Office and Nursery fully closed from Wednesday 9th October to Sunday 3rd November.
  • Phone messages, emails and other contact (Facebook etc) will not be responded to from 9th Oct to 4th November
  • Monday 4th November all online orders will be processed and start Sending/Opening again.
  • Online ordering will be available 24/7 as usual and sent in order of received from the 4th November.
  • Get in early to secure your stock, Back-orders may take 1-2 weeks from the 4th Nov to fill.

Cordyline australis – Cabbage tree/Palm

Description: Native of New Zealand. A single trunked small palm-like tree that will branch after flowering. Each branch is crowned with a head of strappy green leaves with slightly scented sprays of white flowers in spring. Cordyline Australis can reach a height of up to 10 metres tall.

Climate Guide: Cold and frost tolerant, wind tolerant, salt tolerant, drought tolerant. Very hardy in full sun or part shade.

Planting Season:
All Year round.

Fertilising: Responds well to organic mulch and slow release fertiliser in spring.

Needs water when young but becomes more drought tolerant once established.

Ideal For: When young, Cordyline Australis looks great in tubs and is great for sculptural effects and massed planting in groves.
