Description
Plumbago auriculata Blue (Skyflower, Cape Leadwort)
A medium sized wide fully hardy perennial evergreen shrub with magnificent blue flowers in late Spring, through Summer and into Autumn. It grows well in semi-shade and direct sun, and prefers medium levels of water. The flowers are rotate shaped. It has average drought tolerance.
Plumbago auriculata ‘Alba’ grows in soils ranging from a pH of 5 to 7. It is adapted to clay loam, loam, loamy sand, sandy clay loam and sandy loam soils.
Growth
This is a climbing shrub has an ultimate height of 3m / 9.8ft and spread of 2.5m / 8.2ft.
The plant prefers a sheltered situation.
